Everything you need to get going with Omen, from install to letting your AI write scripts.
Install
- Download the installer and run it. It installs for your Windows account only, so it doesn't ask for admin rights.
- Open Omen. A short tour points out Launch, Execute and where things live.
- On Home, press Install to fetch the files Omen needs. When Omen has an update, the same card offers it.
Launch and execute
Open Roblox. Each running account shows up in the sidebar under Accounts with its avatar. Click an account to include or skip it; the status bar's Runs on picker does the same.
Press Launch (the power icon in the editor toolbar) to attach to the picked accounts, then Execute (the play icon, or Ctrl Enter) to run the open script on them. Results show in the Output panel, and the game's console shows in Terminal.
If you open another Roblox window after launching, Launch lights up again so you can attach to it too.
The editor
- Helpers: start typing and grey text suggests the rest of the line. Press Tab to accept.
- Language server: autocomplete for Roblox services and properties, hover docs, and type checking. Problems are underlined and listed in the Problems panel.
- Tabs: Ctrl T for a new script, double-click or F2 to rename. Tabs are kept when you close Omen.
- Files: open and save
.lua,.luauand.txtfiles, or drop them on the window. - Format (Shift Alt F) tidies indentation, and Find (Ctrl F) and Replace (Ctrl H) work like any code editor.
- Search everything with Ctrl K: actions, settings, your scripts, and ScriptBlox.
Library and pins
The Script library has three sources: ScriptBlox (search by game or script, filter by verified or keyless), your Favorites (star any ScriptBlox script), and Saved (scripts you saved from the editor).
Pin a script to run it from the sidebar in one click: use the pin in the editor toolbar for the script you're writing, or the pin on any library card. Pinned saved scripts always run their latest saved version.
Auto-execute
Scripts in the auto-execute folder run by themselves after every Launch, in name order. Open the folder from Settings → Auto-execute, drop .lua or .txt files in, and they're picked up on the next launch.
AI tools (MCP)
Omen can let AI tools read and write the scripts open in your tabs. Turn on Settings → AI → MCP server, then connect your tool. Only programs on your own PC can connect, and websites can't.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http omen http://127.0.0.1:7331/mcp
Codex (ChatGPT's terminal tool)
Add to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.omen] url = "http://127.0.0.1:7331/mcp"
Cursor and VS Code
Settings → AI shows the exact snippet for each, ready to copy. The ChatGPT desktop app can't connect, because it only reaches servers on the public internet.
What your AI can do
List, read, write, edit and create scripts, switch tabs, read problems and output. Running scripts is off unless you turn on Let AI run scripts. Every change shows up live in the editor and is logged in Output.
Themes and shortcuts
Settings → Appearance has Graphite, Midnight and Light themes, a theme builder with live preview, and a Retro style that reskins the whole app like a classic desktop program. Settings → Shortcuts lets you change any shortcut; Omen warns you if a key is already taken.
Settings → Data exports everything (settings, themes, saved scripts, favorites) to one backup file and brings it back.
